Wing Stretching

Posted by Laurette (Lonehill - Fourways, South Africa) on 28 January 2015 in Animal & Insect and Portfolio.

Woodland Kingfisher perching on a low branch and waiting patiently for its prey (mainly insects but also frogs ,lizards and even small birds ) to pass its way. They will sit for long periods on the same branch scanning the ground below and then many times do some wing stretching in between.
